Traidcraft Supermarket Shopping Survey

Post: # 49247Post Shirley »

Supermarkets are often seen as one of the most successful areas of our economy and as a boon for consumers, but we know hardly anything about people's attitudes towards them. Certainly concerns have been raised over the state of the UK farming industry and whether supermarkets are paying farmers enough for their produce. There has also been increasing protest at the domination of high streets by supermarkets and the decline of traditional small shops. And yet supermarkets continue to expand because people do most of their weekly shopping in them.

The purpose of this survey is to find out your views on supermarkets and whether there really is widespread concern about the way they operate. It should take you less than 10 minutes to complete. As a fair trade supporter we would like to know how important it is to you that the people producing all of your food have good working conditions. If we find there are concerns, we will also use this information to lobby government in line with our mission to help small producers in the developing world to benefit from trade.

The survey will be available online and in printed form until 12 April. Please feel free to pass it on to your friends - the more responses we have the more effective it will be. We hope to provide feedback on the results from 31 May on our website.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help us.

The survey comprises approx 25 questions spread across seven sections

When you reach the end of the survey you have the opportunity to record your name to enter into a prize draw to win a Traidcraft hamper.

I waded my way through it, but like all surveys of this sort, you get about half-way through, and end up going "oh lord, I don't care anymore................." and are tempted to give fatuous answers............
Can't they inject a bit of life into surveys?..........drying paint is more gripping!

LOL martin... yes, I agree with you. I've not done this one yet, but have just done one for a consumer research thing that I do and I was almost falling asleep in the middle of it.
