right i have onions sets in the nets in me attic room i noticed the red barons had started to sprout the shallots and other onions sturon i think are ok so i have put them into seed trays and layed them out a bit and nipped the sprout off the onion.ihave moved them on to downstairs bedroom wardrobe nr window.
i have onions shallots garlic over wintering varities already in.
what i like to know is can i start the red baron off in a tray with compost or some of them now to give them a good start. any ideas sarah,jim,tanya and co ?

I dont no if this is any help but, Im growing red barons from seed this year as i managed to get some at my local seed swap. The information on indoor sowing i found was to sow in trays of compost then put some glass or a propagator lid over the top. That info is for if you are sowing January to February.
