Hello from a random farm

Post: # 47900Post Enormous Sage »

Hello,

Been looking at this forum for a while (got some good tips from it!) and decided to take the plunge and join.
I live on a farm (not mine) and have decided to experiment with growing my own veggies, well it makes sense doesn't it?

Had an initial trial run last year with a couple of things scrounged off other people and recycled, i.e. pea plants, potatoes found sprouting in the back of the cupboard, tomato plant found growing randomly in the lawn and it all went quite well. This year I am going to go a bit mad and try fancy things like aubergines, peppers and kohl rabi, along with the basics.
I'm also going to give the nettle beer recipie a go, since it is one thing we have growing in abundance here.

I am also the proud guardian of an apple tree, a plum tree and a tree that produces things that look like Greengages (all rescued / revived trees from what used to the orchard)

So, in summary, hello.
You also have much better smileys than most forums.

Edit : I seem to have a default Penelope Keith. I can live with that for now, but I was hoping for Felicity Kendall to be honest.

Thankyou for all the Hello messages!

In other developments, someone has fly-tipped a load of tyres on the farm which made me angry.
But then I noticed the TV item on growing potatoes in old tyres, which has made me calm again. I'm going to give that a go along with the elderflower champage (since we have elderflower bushes growing around the hedges)

See, this website lowers the blood-pressure!
