Logged on too late to catch this.

Nothing new...

They talked about reusable nappies, saving energy (lightbulbs mostly), switching to a green tariff and airlines planting trees. Then my baby needed her (reusable) nappy changed and I missed the rest 'cause I was singing jingle bells.

It is quite frustrating that he didn't go into more adventurous subjects.

Yes - except that these subjects, while being old hat for a SSish, could be new and innovative for some.
Hopefully it might have encouraged more people to take on the ideas.

R2 JV = (BBC) Radio 2; presenter Jeremy Vine.

I've never listened to his radio programme, but he's a fairly inteligent journalist, who used to present a late night TV news programme. If you can get the 'Listen Again' buttons to work in the link, you may be able to hear the item in question (though I seem to remember some people saying this was not available outside the UK, somehow).

Thanks for posting the explanation Muddy, I've not been online for a few days.

My view of the discussion was nothing new or valuble for us, but will have been for lots of other people. So I think it was worthwhile broadcasting.

The easiest way to be green and save money is stop buying so much stuff.

My DH heard a few things on the radio recently about not needing to plant trees because they don't make any difference. Anyone else heard this, because I haven't!

the only SANE thing to do is to plant the tree, and NOT fly at all! :dave:
