yes!!!! I want to have a nice size garden and even do some canning. One of the neighbors I met has offered to help me can. That sounds like fun!!!

Hi Suzanne and welcome to the site!
Regarding the berries - if these are wild, I suggest you buy (or beg, steal or borrow
) a book on native species and take this outside with you to compare photos to what you see on the plants. You can also use the internet to search but then you can't take your computer to your garden so you might need to pick some leaves and berries and bring them inside!
I don't know from your posting if you are talking about berries on trees or berries on bushes, so hard to know if someone has already cultivated blueberries or similar on your property.
The bottom line however is - DON'T eat anything that you are unsure about! It's better to waste a harvest of edible berries than get sick, or worse!
(Most of us here are not in the USA so don't know what berry type fruits you are likely to find in Florida).
Good luck!

If you want to stick up some photos of your berries and describe them a bit we can see if anyone recognises them - M3 is right though don't try anything until you are sure. I once picked poision ivy berries and waited until I knew what they were, glad that I did not eat them. anyway welcome
