Robin Hood

Do you think The Good Life could be remade, with me or Dave playing Tom Good (maybe not!)? If you have seen something on TV or heard something on the radio recently that you want to talk about, tell us here.

Robin Hood

Anyone see the BBCs new Robin Hood series last night? I'm not sure it lived up to all the hype but it seems good enough to be worth sticking with while Doctor Who isn't on.

I caught it too - a credible Robin, an over made-up(and not in the least appealing!) Maid Marian, and a dreadfully camp Sheriff - it's got to be better than a drunken american's "take"

No big names in it, but plenty of buckles swashed

Don't look for authenticity, after all he is a legendary figure.
I enjoyed it, but the sooner David Tennat's back the better, swoon

We let our youngest sit and watch it, as a special treat. He was totally glued to it. I didn't see it as I was doing very important domestic duties.

It was fun! I read that the forest bits were filmed in Hungary `cos Sherwood Forest isn`t like that any more.
True, there`s a CenterParcs there and all kinds of `amenities`.

I see!, -a sign of the times! - lots of "male crumpet" for the ladies, and a decidedly ropey Maid Marian for the fellas! :?

Haven't seen it, but Keith Allen as the Sherif? I mean he's good on Bodies There his character is arrogant yet shows some humanity but I don't exactly see him playing a hate figure, he needs dark humour to carry that off.

my little one says "i-fighting? Not nice". That sums it up as far as he is concerned. I say "Historical costume accuracy? Not there!" We do enjoy the homo-erotic never to be realised yearnings Much has for Robin (our interpretation), and filling in the blanks of filthy conversations.

My boyfriend & I enjoy watching this new Robin Hood for all the very obvious references to current C21st issues. The writers have got to be applauded for that. My main problem is that Robin, Much, Alan etc don't look old enough for their back-story. They only about 15.

He ate all the pies.

I think he was in an earlier episode, but as a member of the crowd shouting "down with this sort of thing"
