'Christmas' Play!?!

Any issues with what nappies to buy, home schooling etc. In fact if you have kids or are planning to this is the section for you.

I spose the thing here is people want the experience they had themselves as a child - for their own children. But I'm glad of the change. because I was one of those kids that made the choir everytime.... never got a part in the nativity play - cos back then there were not 35 parts in the play. these days everyone gets a part.. which means they have to do it different. good on them.

As for wanting your kids to have a working knowledge of the story, yes I can see that - I am non religious, but as part of my son's home education we have been covering various bible stories.. because I think he should know about Jonah and the Whale etc, its general knowledge. A nativity play is far from the actual bible story though. There was no donkey, no inn, no inn keeper... there were an unknown quanity of wise men, and not a king in sight... there was a manger.. but no stable.... the list goes on. If the story is to be so changed.. does it matter how it is changed?
