Ready, Steady....guess where I am going?

Post: # 40731Post shiney »

And I am sooo excited....

I am going to London on Tuesday to record Ready Steady Cook with Tracey Smith!

It has an eco theme with Tracey taking locally produced meat and organic veg.

She's on with Penney Poyzer and I am being a groupie, hanger on and general member of the audience. (No waste like home, BBC presenter)

I'll report back with what it's all about on Wednesday. I am so thrilled to be part of her special day doing a bit of telly!

It's going out in January, so keep an eye out.

Hiya Nat,

Can't wait to get cracking with it too mate! So pleased you are coming up with me - we will have a right giggle.

I am heading to Nat's tomorrow to go charity shop shopping for a new/old top and their list of can's and can'ts is enormous - no little dots, no thin stripes, no black, no white.....but also, I don't know if I am Red or Green either!!! So we are going to have to purchase a selection of toppages from Trowbridge's finest 2nd-hand emporiums.

See you tomorrow Nat chick!

Ooh dunno about that, I'll have to remind T to bring the two bags she has snaffled off me. I am bagless at the moment!

Awesome!!
How about a green top with white daisies on - just like the ssish logo!!
Failing that you caould always vandalise - sorry - adapt a green pepper by sticking the ssish daisy on it - you may have to bribe another member of the audience for their pepper tho!!
Good luck gals!! Have fun!! And let is know when its on so that we can all cheer for you from our front rooms!!

Hi All,

We have just got back from Charity Land on the maddest shopping spree to find Tracey something to wear for the show. What a list of 'no, no's' we had to work against. No stripes, no patterns, no dots, no black and all white. I mean, what a challenge in a charity shop for goodness sake. So, T is going for one of her old favourite from Help the Aged.

Tracey will be cooking with chicken liver, local cheese, dry cure bacon, parsnips, local spuds, parsnips and leeks.

We are currently working our way through bottle no 2 bottle of 2002 Fitou and feeling very good about it!

Nervous, who's nervous? T's pretty relaxed about the whole thing.

Yay! We're back from London on a complete high.

Wow, what a day, it was fantastic from start to finish.

Ainsley is everything you see, totally lovely, welcoming, warm and a genuinely fabulous host.

Lesley, Gino and the whole team were smashing people and made us feel so welcome and relaxed.

It really is 20mins straight filming and the chefs don't know what they have go to cook with.

The food cooked was completely out of this world and afterwards we were ushered off to finish the plates! Needless to say we are STUFFED!!!

Penney Poyzer is one heck of a gal and I love her to bits. She is hosting the forthcoming Green Awards at the Guild Hall in London, which she is very excited about.

Afterwards we saw the other contestants in the GREEN ROOM, (how appropriate!) who were Bjorn Again, the ABBA tribute band, to be followed by 70's heart throb David Cassidy and Tony Blackburn. We said 'Hello' to Tone in the carpark as we were waiting for our lift home.

All in all a day to remember.

Tracey will be talking about it on her radio show tomorrw. Apple AM ~ 10am-12pm. Dont forget to listen on the net!

Program due go out on 4th Jan 07.
