Snowing hard here

Post: # 40553Post Stonehead »

The snow has arrived and is coming down hard, driven by a very strong wind. The joys of NE Scotland!

Brrrr don't mention snow to me! I'm not good in cold weather.

Mind you, the snow didn't last long Stoney...did it settle or has it all gone now?
If in doubt ~ use a hammer!

It lasted 30 minutes (the entire time the OH was doing the pigs instead of a me for a change  ), didn't settle and is long gone now. Now we have crisp blue skies, 30-40mph winds and a lovely bite to the air.

We go from 200 to 220 metres, but the western side of the ridge is completely exposed right out to the mountains. The winds blast across the intervening land (which can be 100 metres or so below us), then smack into our ridge and dump everthing on the lee side (where the house is).

Insch, two miles down the road, is lower, warmer and drier so the townies have it easy!

Just looked out of the window as it's getting very dark and a white 'mist' is heading our way. If we don't get it as snow it will be sleet or very cold rain.....

and it's getting colder by the second
