was it me, or did it put life back into them? - they looked SO much healthier, and much more "at peace" than they ever were at the beginning!

YES... I absolutely agree with you there.... especially the woman that was the home economics teacher.
Feel good factor BIG TIME - life changing even. I hope that it's reached out to other people that have watched the programme and changed their lives too.
I LOVE positive telly like this.

If it helps a few more people see where nutters like me are coming from, then I'm all for it.Shirlz2005 wrote:YES... I absolutely agree with you there.... especially the woman that was the home economics teacher.

It was just a shame it was on after 8pm and our video doesn't record as the boys would have liked it. I guess it will be out on DVD very soon knowing how commercial Mr HFW is!

Fair point Stoney - he is commercial these days, but if that helps to get the message across to the masses then so be it.
J went to bed late today and so he watched and enjoyed. Your two would have enjoyed it too.

Wikipedia is a good starting point - e numbers - as is the UK food guide.paradox wrote:Me my wife and our daughter watched it and it was a real pleasure to see those people change there ways from eating ready meals.
One thing that program made me think about was e numbers does anyone know where i can get a list telling me what the individual e numbers stand for?
The Vegetarian Society has a list of the non-vegetarian ones.
Good books are:
A Consumer's Dictionary of Food Additives
The Chemical Maze
E is for Additives
But remember, there is more in food than these. There are also pesticide residues, veterinary residues, salt, added fat, bulkers and water. Chicken, for instance, can have beef or pork protein added as it retains water and then be injected with water to make it plumper and heavier. In Ireland, they found some chicken was 43% water - which isn't illegal so long as it's on the label!
Oh, and if possible buy those books from small eco-friendly businesses rather than Amazon. I've put the links in for the information not as potential sources!!
