Perennial Cauliflower

Post: # 38205Post Karen_D »

No, I'm not pulling your leg

Has anyone grown it?

Thompson and Morgan do seeds but it seems to be one of those "shush keep your voice down or they'll all want one" plants.

sounds interesting particularly small heads as you pick as you require instead of pick, use and store the left over for another day

Hah! You got me in here under false pretences. It's not cauliflower at all! Nine star brocolli is one of the perennials I'm going to be bunging in with my new fruit trees next spring. Eventually the trees will shade them out, but that doesn't matter. I'm looking forward to giving them a try!

What, because it's big? That's not a problem since we have an artificially extended zone 2 - stretched through the polytunnel to the chicken house. Anything past the chicken house is zone 3 (infrequent visits). Although I seem to remember reading somewhere that you have to keep cropping the flowers to stop it from going to seed and dying, is that right?

Yo, Hedgie! I'd love to give this one a try, too...do you already have seeds?

Not yet, my man. One of us is going to have to bite the bullet and *gasp* buy some!

Are you sure you have room for it?
