Hello

Post: # 38965Post Daisy's Mum »

Just to say hi, and introduce ourselves.

Small but busy family of three, living in an east norfolk village a couple of miles off the coast.

We have a postage stamp of a garden so we have a wee allotment, with plenty of old boys around who get a bit slap happy with the roundup and various other noxious chemicals that they can get their hands on! We can but try.

When not being a mother, allotmenteering or running my small business from home, I am invariably involved in some sort of project, in the big wide world I used to teach arts and crafts to people with learning difficulties so am still teaching myself how to make the best use of things.(which is how i ended up on this site)

DH is a mechanic by trade, so there are a few home engineering projects going on too, like the rotorvator. He's also in the process of building a wooden garden room on the back of the house (materials sourced second hand) which we will be heating with the rayburn that we have just bought for £100 (bargain).

We follow all the usual eco parenting attitudes towards our one year old daughter, who is currently making everything her business - that includes sampling the just dug potatoes mud and all!

Sorry for the waffle

Now time to sort out the appopleptic one year old whos trying to get the dogs to wear sunglasses!

Welcome!
I love Norfolk and spent happy hols there as a small child. I'm an ex-Essex girl and get sad about all the pathetic stereotypes about East Anglia - still some of the most beautiful countryside in England - provided the government don't insist on building all over it.
Allotment holders around here seem to be divided between 'kill it all' and organic - pot luck who's next to you! My neighbours to one side (the other side is a wilderness) are organic but the bloke opposite brought a JCB onto his new plot to clear a few weeds and is currently dumping loads of hardcore to make hard standing for the car and the barbie!
