it's not terribily unhealthy and I notice they didn't say what else was in his lunch box, he could of had a salad sandwich and several pieces of fruit as well

its ridiculous anyway - of course kids need to eat healthily but kids need loads of calories and a fair amount of fat while they're growing - they obviously need exercise with it but if an active child didn't eat 'unhealthy' food sometimes they would be a lot less healthy in reality than one who does!

Worse than what his lunch box did or did not contain is the fact he was punished harshly for the so called sins of his parents. Had that been my son I would be creating merry hell with these teachers and recommending a personalty and humanity injection. In my opinion his harsh treatment was one step down from the belt!

The teacher awards thing has been on the news recently and it dismayed me that the Scottish contingent has won on realising children work better when things are made more exciting to them, like tidy up time the mission impossible music was played

Erm I sure a lot or parents have been saying this for the last decade. When I was at primary school we loved it due to the 'excitement' generated for us.

Also is this not what the nursery teacher already do and try to convey to the main stream school????

All power to her for getting it recognised again, but whose bright idea was it to remove it from the classroom environment in the first place?
