Thieving bleeping people !!!
My mother has just telephoned me to say that my fathers allotment has been broken into and all his pumpkins have been stolen, my daughter is gutted she is only 3 and has had great patience watching and waiting all summer for them to grow and was really looking forward to picking them for Halloween.
Selfish bloody people, my Dad has taken the time and the effort to plant and care for these pumpkins and now scumbags have stolen them.
I know it is only half a dozen pumpkins , hardly the end of the world but who the hell do these people think they are - grow your own or go to T***o's I don't care which just leave our stuff alone grrrrrrrrrrr

How awful. Big hugs to you and your daughter.
Actually it IS a big deal... we should be able to grow things without the fear of them being stolen.

sorry I am that cross I've just realise this is posted on the wrong forum it should have gone into the general and knock yourself out segment
Thank you for your sympathy, my daughter can't grasp the concept of theft so I am trying to explain that somebody has taken them away - and her reply was that theyare 'disgusting nasty people'

How awful!
Allotments are so vulnerable aren`t they? We had our shed broken into a few weeks ago and all our stuff taken.
It`s worse in a way if they take your crops isn`t it? You`ve lavished work and tlc on them.
A couple of years ago I found a youth with bags of pears he`d stolen from our plot. I tackled him, (verbally, he was a big lad and I was on my own!) and told him to clear off or I`d call the police. He rather sheepishly picked up his carrier bags and started to slope off. When I told him to leave his loot behind he moaned, "What? It took me ages to pick `em!"
And no! It`s not `foraging` or `scrumping` in these circumstances - it`s thieving!

I sympathise, WGA. If they stole the pumpkins from a shop they'd end up in court. In my opinion it's even worse stealing them from an allotment or garden as they've stolen all your hard work and time and trouble and anticipation. You could pay back a shop for the value of the stolen goods but there's no way to compensate a gardener for the crops they grow. Give your dad all my love.

I think it's a flippin disgrace. I don't know who the heck people think they are! I once heard a burglar say that it didn't matter coz he only 'did' the rich folk, who have insurance. Per-leaze! The bloke who took your Dad's pumpkins took something he'd lavished care and attention on, and he might just as well have popped into his house, eaten his dinner, drank his cuppa, and slept in his bed. Same thing IMO

I can sypathsie we grew pumpkins which got kicked to bits one year, we watched them grow from seed and where measuring them every day. It was absolutely gutting I could not bring myself to go to the allotment for a few days after and see the mess they made. When I did go back someone had left a couple of squashes next to our plot, I was overjoyed with this and it restored my faith.
I thought about putting man traps and all sorts on the allotment but I soon calmed down.
I have every sympathy for your Dad - the bastards.

This is ont thing that really makes my blood boil! It's disgusting and those who did it would have no idea of the amount of hurt and frustration it causes. Stealing food like this is a despicable act. I hope the pumpkins make 'em sick!
