Hello from DK
Hi all
I live in Denmark (Copenhagen). Me and my girlfriend dream about moving to the country at some point in the future.
I have been working at a organic gardening facility this summer, where I worked with green manure and ways of getting rid of pests using herbs, and I grow my own herbs at home. In addition I'm studying herbs for medicine usage and alternative ailments for various problems (old "forgotten" household tricks).
I also fish and freedive (underwater hunting) and I shop organic as much as possible.
In addition to this I'm looking at alternative energy solutions for our future home at the moment...
Great forum. :)

I'm very interested in your herbs for medicine and ye olde household tricks!!
Freedive is a new one on me - that sounds cool.

Thanks for the warm welcomes...
Shirley: Freediving and underwater hunting is great for spearing fish and harvesting black mussles. Also edible crabs can be found on depths around 10 meters. It is however not without it's dangers.
Ofcourse this requires equipment and such in these nordic cold waters, but it's worth the experience to me, since it's very meditative and you learn alot about the eco system in seawater. The equipment might not be ecological sound in itself, but I think it's worth it compared to destructive bottom trawling which destroys valuable reefs and overfishing by some industrial trawlers.

As for herbs and such.. I hope to contribute with a bit and learn some too.
