Runner Beans

Post: # 34173Post fiona_wiseman »

Hi there. We have more runner beans than we are eating, and have already frozen loads. Does any-one know any reason not to dry the beans that have got too big and use them like other pulses?
Thanks, Fiona x

G'Day Fiona,

Welcome to the site!

From what I have seen and have read, they should be OK to use that way!

I've used them in soups and stews before from 'fresh',and they are fine.
I suppose that they should be equally as good from 'dried'.

They are also nice for kids to play with - especially if you have a variety that has coloured beans. I remember playing with them as a child.
