I refer you to the 'cranks and nutters' post - you can only be green if you're also into nudity, dancing 'round maypoles and colonic irrigation. Not of course that there's anything wrong with nudity and maypole dancing (colonig irrigation I'm less sure about) but for most of the media 'green' and 'normal' do not overlap.

i have to say...i just e-mailed them complaining about the way they've treated the project and BGG...mainly about the way they've treated BGG to be honest. I wasn't naked (although...in the background of EM when he's talking to the nudists, theres some legs in a long red skirt...they're mine they are, i remember seeing the prat in the suit and wondering what he was up to...in a suit...in the sun...).

I think the basic premise behind his series is excellent - get "Mr Straight" to go green! Unfortunately I've found most of what he's done far too tongue in cheek," let's get a laugh out of it" attitude. I heartily agree with FF about his behaviour at the BGG - his reporting was, at best, cheap tabloid trash, more worthy of the Daily Sport than an otherwise excellent programme like Newsnight! :cooldude:

Boots - i have no problem with the fact that he's having a go. Its the fact that he does everything to take the P***.he comes across (to me) as a city-type (you know, the mobile phone clipped to the ear, cheap suits and shoes, obviously more important than you or i...) who think he's being amusing, and that its all an adventure, living an 'alternative' lifestyle..

Ah, that's a shame... the concept could be quite good for encouraging green thinking and introducing new ways of doing things among the suits. If thinking green suddenly got trendy we could make a real difference, but many a good idea has been trashed by a lousy presentation...

Why doesn't Andy invite him to stay for a week... that might show the real difference if folks are being misled.

Heck - how come we haven't invited him here? Can't we invite him to share his discoveries with us? Maybe he is just responding to the challenge with a real limited outlook or past experience. Ethics can be pretty malleable with some folks. Let's get him on here and see where he really stands...

hee hee hee hee *leans back and adjusts the akubra*
