Thought it might be nice to actually see what animals and poultry other people keep, so I am kicking of, with a photo my favourite chickens, a trio of exchequer leghorns!
Aren't they beautiful?

Thanks shiney!
I have many other pure/rare breeds of chickens too ,as well as ducks and a horse and all the usual household pets e.g. rabbits, dogs, cats, guinea pigs , and even an albino baby Californian Kingsnake!

Quite a menagerie!

Never seen chickens like it, they are pretty magnificent.

They are not only pretty but are very good layers too.
All types of leghorns lay pure white eggs.
I have cuckoo marans that lay dark brown eggs , brahmas and cochins that lay buff coloured eggs , silkies lay a pinkish tinged eggs and my ducks lay greeny blue, so they look very pretty when all in a basket together! More importantly they taste great too!

Well once you have taken your photos with your digital camera you need to, of course tranfer them to your pc.
Then you need to put them online with a webhost like this one http://photobucket.com/
Follow the instructions to upload them onto that site by clicking browse(that will show all your pictures on your pc and you then need to click on the one you want to use) and click submit and then you will see your photo is right there on photobucket with three rows of code under it . The bottom row is the url code ready to insert on here.
So right click on it so it is highlighted black and right click copy then come back here and right click paste and the code will show on the bit where you normally write. You wont see a photo yet!
Then click preview to check the size is ok(now you will see it) and if it is then post it! Give it a try . It sounds worse than it is .But if you follow it one step at a time you cannot go wrong! Good Luck.

The nice thing about using www.photobucket.com as a picture host is that you can post a thumbnail image, then we can click on that to see a large picture. To do this, once you have uploaded some images to photobucket, check the box below the images you want a thumbnail of, then click on the button 'Generate HTML and IMG code'. You will then see a page with various codes to copy'n'paste into your message. For this message board you always need the URL which is enclosed in [img]...[/img] tags.

Also, my experiments show that not all other picture hosting sites work with this message board.

Have an experiment in the 'Practice and Deleted' section. You can delete your posts from there if they go wrong. Or just use the 'Preview' button.

Hi Naomi, Your chickens look beautiful. I used to live in Lincolnshire. Whereabouts are you? Have you ever been to the Rare Breed Poultry place at Langworth? Langworth is about 5 miles north of Lincoln, it's not a big commerical place, it's run by one man who shows you round himself, he has a real passion for his birds, he is really nice and charges about 25p for a tour (this was about 10 years ago). If it's still there and you happen to be in the area it's worth a visit.

Hi,
I am on the Eastern edge of the Wolds . I haven't heard of the man you mention. But there is a big place called Rand Farm Park? Also one near Louth that has rare breeds of chickens too.
I am glad you like my chooks.
Thank you.
