A friend of mine has a theory that when non-news is reported like that it is because something more serious is happening. Quite an Orwellian theory really, in fact I think it is in 1984.
The trouble these days is any scrap of news is blown up into such ridiculous proportions you're head reels from what could be pure nonsense and what actually might be happening. Like the recent 'evidence' of terror plots, we had the IRA making actual attacks in the UK for years and there was never the paranoia that is around now (oops another tangent).
I've actually met Alan Moore a few times as he is from my native Northampton -(even been round his house a couple of times). I've read V for Vendetta but not actually seen the film- heard mixed reports about it. I think I may have to give it a go and make up my own mind.
It's gonna taste great

oh don't get me started on that - certain countries spent all of those years supporting the IRA as freedom fighters and now another group of people are doing the exact same thing but it becomes terrorism. Hmmm. Whats the difference I wonder?Dave wrote: The trouble these days is any scrap of news is blown up into such ridiculous proportions you're head reels from what could be pure nonsense and what actually might be happening. Anyway, back to the Wicker Man (ish) - you have to say this aloud and preferably be in a really silly mood to really enjoy this joke;
Why does Edward Woodward have so many D's and W's in his name?

I've heard the only thing the new Wicker Man has in common with the old one is that they burn a wicker man at the end... They've changed just about everything they could change, the gender of some main character as well - and of course the country.

Dog Day News report
OMG,
Talk about dredging the bottom. On BBC news this morning, both TV and radio 4, articles about cows having regional accents!
And the interview with some animal linguist, had to have been written by Armando Iannucci. She took it seriously, though said that it needed proper scientific approach, and a random sample of what the average cow in Summerset, vs Midlands,vs North would have to be analyised!!??.
What a load of tosh, it's apparently come about from some Summerset cheese maker, Me thinks there's ad value in this?.
