Hey people,
Just checking out www.seedsofitaly.com and i considered buying some courgette seeds which is says can be sown from august to october (or similar).
How does that work? Don't the little seedlings just die in the frost?
Oh and there's loads of windfall fruit (rubbish for eating)-can I put them in the compost instead of treading on them?

Courgette: tissues and issues
Weeds make me mad.
Haven' t heard of the courgettes - are you going to try them? Their seeds ar usually excellent.
On the second one, yes, windfalls intot eh compost heap, or make cider if it's apples. Try and leave some to rot on the top of the heap for the butterflies, blackbirds and wasps, though. If you have a closed heap, leave a few out on the grass.

IT does seem very late to be planting courgettes, they don't grow that quickly and I think you will be lucky to have a plant that misses the first frosts before you get any courgettes.
First we sow the seeds, nature grows the seeds then we eat the seeds. Neil Pye
