He he he, I got a bit of garden to grow more stuff in!

I was very disappointed the other day with the allotment 4 year waiting lists. So I got me thinking cap on and decided to borrow someones garden. (or a bit of it) I was going to avertise in my little local shop, when it occured to me that a good friend has a rather large garden that they only use half of, just around the corner.

It's a patch smaller than an allotment but managable. Obviously the deal is that they get some of the 'goods'!

So, if you can't get hold an allotment ~ ask around.

What state is the garden in and what are you going to grow in it?

It's not too bad, because they grew a load of spuds in it last year for the first time. I am hoping the ground will have been broken up a bit.

That is fantastic news. Well done, it really does dissapoint me to see people with unused gardens. Now if only we can find someone that lives near my sister

That is a good deal - well done! Also useful when you end up with 25 lettuces all ready at the same time that you can't possibly eat all by yourself. It's always a shame to see them waste.

There must be loads of people out there who would love someone to come and grow veggies on their land - look at what they get - free fresh veg and none of the hard work!

Yes, I am pleased with the thought of having a little place literally around the corner. I'll probably be able to hve a cup of tea from my friend, whilst I am there!

Now...for the hard work. I better find some time to go and sort out I am going to grow there. Runner and drawf beans for starters.

Andy, why don't you try and blag a bit of garden on the Bath Recyle Group or one that operates in your sisters area? It's a group that covers the world, so Tracey tells me.

I think MillyMollyMandy is on to something here - using parts of other peoples gardens to grow veg on the understanding that its shared out. If I had a big garden and someone I knew offered me that, I would bit the hand off!

By the way MillyMollyMandy - do you have a Best Friend Susan? My daughter loves the books.....
