I have really enjoyed the salads this year so i've continued sowing in the greenhouse border with lambs lettuce pak choi and Chinese lettuce, i also sowed mustard and cress, American land cress, mung beans and spicy seed mix,
All these make fantastic sandwich fillers plus the salad i got the seeds from our local store who were giving all seeds away for 40p

The weather has been so awful up here, this year, that we haven't grown anything outside, other than herbs. So we're growing lettuce in the hydroponics units, microgreens on a windowsill and sprouted seeds in the sprouters.
Very nutritious, and we eat them regularly, but it's been more soup than salad weather really.

We've been fairly lucky this year with the weather we are 800ft above sea level just 4 miles from the sea so i bet this winter is going to be fairly harsh.
Mind you i don't mind soup days on a cold Autumn/winters day wrapped up in front of the fire.
