hi to everyone

Post: # 29192Post maggie144 »

i thought i would introduce myself, my name is maggie and i have a smallholding in north cumbria,. where i have ducks, chickens, goats, and i am a rabbit breeder too,

all my family (husband and kids) are very involved with its running and we recycle everything we can, i have several compost heaps, use only organic ingredients for cooking .

one of my goats has just had babies, my next organic venture will be a wormery, and then i am going to buy some turkeys as well .

i have one question though everyone in my village thinks i am mad, does anyone else have this problem.

look forward to hearing from you

Hi Maggie, and welcome!

That's nice, another goat keeper... Dairy goats, I suppose? Mine are cashmere - don't really have the space at the moment for dairy goats, and the time committment could be a problem, too. Shirley and Dave (Shirlz) have just got a couple of dairy goats, no doubt she'll be talking to you soon.

Do you breed rabbits for meat? Ask Stonehead, he shoots his through the kitchenwindow... I think you'll find there are a few on here who are thought mad by the rest of the village!

hello Maggie!

I used to work with a herd of goats, loved them. Wormeries are great, had one for a while now and great for geting rid of all food waste

Hi Maggie

Ooh another goat person :) We've got two, Madeleine and Nia... We are milking Madeleine but Nia is only just over a year old.

We've got ducks, chooks and geese too - no turkeys so far LOL...

Would LOVE to see pics of the goatlings..
