Very odd, I posted a lengthy reply this morning, as did DnD (I believe) and they have disappeared.
The gist of my reply was to check ... http://www.gardenfocused.co.uk/adjust-dates-uk.php although I think the dates are a bit on the optimistic side.

oh, it did say something about the board down, but I saw my reply come up. Well my reply was that when I lived in Berkshire, May 17th was considered to be the last date for hard frosts, but I always proceeded with caution, it is later here in the NW, we haven't hit spring yet so we are still late winter as far as I am concerned

Forecast is for warm and dry through to end May, no frost risk (whatever that is)

For those of us in the UK there is this website which is interactive - http://www.plantmaps.com/interactive-un ... te-map.php BUT the zip code option doesn't work. However there are there are plenty of cities down the right hand side which will give you a clue.

It's on the reasonable side of optimistic for my area.
