tv license
tv license
I'm confused - sometimes when I try to watch bbc catchup iplayer, it asks if I have a license, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes, even if it's an English programme it isn't available even though it was aired earlier in the day (2up, 2down, for example). Can anyone explain?

Re: tv license
You need a TV licence to watch BBC or iPlayer since the beginning of September, I think.

It would be better if they simply blocked access to it with a licence number being needed to enter, wouldn't it? If some programmes come up with the licence or no licence message, it's not very clear. Are there plans afoot to make a more professional arrangement, I wonder.

You want to try living in Ireland and watching the BBC, I have to find all sorts of creative false ip addresses to watch the iplayer, it's not easy trying to buck the system

I heard on the radio from today they will be asking for post codes too.
Yes license required for iplayer and streaming had to find out for my daughter in digs at uni

Useful things daughters sometimes aren't they?
Re: tv license
I've got a licence but I won't sign up to their "favourites" type facility - just to be on the safe side. They always seem to me to be a bit sinister when it comes to "protecting" their service.
