I grew some this year and it grew well, unlike the butternuts which failed totally and the potimarrons/utchikiri which only grew tiny fruits.
I was expecting them to be overly sweet with "candy" in it's name, but mine are not sweet at all, and I wondered if that was down to the lack of sunshine this summer.
Goodness knows why I bought the seed in the first place as now that I've given up sugar, lots of things are far too sweet for me, like butternuts and the modern sweetcorn varieties. But this year at least it's rather nice, very similar to potimarrons but a lot easier to grow, and grows to a huge size like a prize winning marrow.
I think I shall grow them again, but as we are going to have a long hot summer next year*, I was wondering if they will be a disappointment.
*Starting early with positive vibes
