which perennial onions, leeks, garlic?

Post: # 277917Post JoseyJo »

I've found this website http://www.pennardplants.com/products.php?cat=193 which does a great range of perennial veg. including 11 different onion/leek/garlic type plants.
I'd heard of Egyptian Walking Onions, and was keen to try those, and also I'd heard of Babbington's Leek. But now I'm spoilt for choice and don't know which to go for.
These are the options (info on the link)
Everlasting onion
Hookers onion
Ramsons/wild garlic
Nodding onion
Welsh onion
Daffodil garlic
Few flowered leek
Serpent garlic
3 cornered leek
Babbington's leek
Egyptian walking onion

Has anyone tried any of these? Any tips? Any recommendations?

Thanks

Unfortunately, I am now hooked on perennial allium. I started out with Egyptian which are really good fun, now I have Babbington, everlasting, 3 colours of potato onion and Ramsons in addition to my chinese chives, these are new to me this year. I have grown Welsh onions in the past as well, which were good, but I think I prefer the Egyptian, you can replant the bulbils and get spring onions

Thanks digger. I can't wait to try some of them, and hoping I'll get hooked too.
