Hello Everyone!

I'm really happy I found this site (via Google), I've been reading it for the last few days & it's got lots of stuff I've been thinking about lately

I also loved "The Good Life" on TV when I was little (kinda dates me doesn't it?) and I think that show is part of the reason I want to grow my own veggies & fruit ... haven't been very successful with veggies so far, but the mandarin tree actually gave me mandarins this year!!!

I'm giving myself a few years, maybe 5, then I hope to be good at veggies & get more land to grow things on ... nice to dream about, anyway

Mandarins... oh how lovely!!

A 5 year plan is a good idea - but once you get started with something and it is successful I reckon you'll likely bring that forward

It gets addictive!

Hi Red, welcome. I guess we're of an age - I watched Good Life when I was little. My parents were ex-hippies but to be honest I think the main attraction was that mum rather fancied Richard Briers and dad fancied the **** off Felicity Kendal.

He had a rather silly sense of humour, an instinct for pricking the over-inflated, and such a secure sense of himself that he wasn't at all inhibited from making himself ridiculous. He was also kind, generous, hardworking, independent and affectionate.

I'm not surprised mum fancied him, he was just her type. He was just like my dad. He's a lot like my husband, too.

I have no idea what they are all talking about - not being originally from this country, I missed the whole shebang. Doesn't make me any younger, though... And yes, I suppose at my age somebody like Tom sounds very attractive!
