Chickpeas

Post: # 263945Post dave45 »

There was an article in the paper the other day saying that farmers in the UK should grow more curry-related crops...

so has anyone grown chickpeas in the UK?

I read that, and it led me to this website with information sheets on some of the less conventional crops, including chickpeas. They look worth a try.

We're growing them here in Spain, doing quite well, no pests, taste wonderful raw in salads, but you would have to grow a lot for an annual supply

I have grown chickpeas but the yield is quite low, lentils similar. I not sure it's worth the trouble.
