Otters

Post: # 263906Post Odsox »

I looked out of my window this morning and was amazed to find two otters playing on the lawn.
I have seen them in the sea before when I've been fishing but I didn't realise just how big they are, these two were a good 4 feet long with a body the size of a large dog.
They disappeared down where my chicken are and although I was pretty sure they wouldn't touch them, I thought I had better check. As I walked down to them I met one of the otters coming back, it passed me unconcerned almost brushing my leg. I felt both honoured and just a wee bit scared, they are truly beautiful animals and are welcomed to play on my lawn again any time.
Made my dog go a bit berserk though.

Wonderful. We have them in the loch and they're fairly used to humans being around but not too close.

Otters are spreading throughout England by using the motorway embankments to travel unmolested.
Just because you see two eyes shining in the jungle at night, do not think that the worse thing that could happen is that you are about to be attacked by a tiger. It could be two one-eyed tigers.

Yeah those Pesky priests were always at them Otters!

We have them on the River here, but I have only ever seen one once to stare at, and a couple of glimses, mainly when the river is in flood.

I agree they are the best of animals.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.
