There are eight Rose of Sharon in the garden. They were planted as small twigs about seven years ago, taken from another garden.It is almost astonishing how they are green one day and the plant is all flowers the next

Durgan,In the UK Rose of Sharon is a low growing invasive,yellow-flowered plant (Hypericum Calycinum),that thing of yours looks far nicer!

Indeed it is. It (UK Rose of Sharon) roots to 2 feet deep or more, all in a tangle. It's good, low maintenance ground cover for, say, a corporately owned road frontage.
