"Army"dillos
We are experiencing a new "challenge" here at our little farm. They haven't quite made it out to the veggie garden yet, but are making short work of the front yard and approaching the mini orchard we have planted along the lane.
Does anyone have an idea for discouraging Aramdillos from rooting up the yard and/or making them move on? I was raised to believe these ugly/cute little guys stayed in warmer climes, but they seem to be very happy here in Missouri now! I know they are after grubs, but I don't want to spray chemicals on the yard.
Also, my neighbor "took care" of a badger in his pasture a while ago (Yes an actual badger!) I thought they were happier in colder climes, but they also seem pretty content to wreck havoc here now. I wouldn't mind them if they stayed in the woods with the cougars that the conservation department only recently admitted were here, but in pastures with expensive livestock? Any thoughts?

What if you're wrong? What if there's more? What if there's hope you never dreamed of hoping for?

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Re: "Army"dillos
I don't know if they would be discouraged by lights (?), but we have a rather large-ish area to cover. I'm quite sure if we got rid of the grubs they'd go away, but the only way to do that is poison, and I don't want to do that, because it would kill a lot of beneficial things too.
I'm sorry to say I don't know what a "dime bar" is. Perhaps if I left them a few PayDay bars scattered about their teeth would stick together and they'd leave? (smiley purposely left off end of sentence just for you!)

Glad I misread that, I wondered what crazy idea the Government had come now.

Re: "Army"dillos
This thread is making me chortle.
I have nothing against armadillos, but then I haven't got them rooting up my veg patch as they are not too common here in Devon. I LOVE Dime bars, though. Yeah, I think they are of Scandinavian origin. And Harry Enfield. Who is not of Scandinavian origin. Thanks for that youtube clip Boboff. I can't believe it's nearly 20 years old!!!!

Too funny! Although I still have armadillos, I had a good laugh to begin the day. Thanks everyone!
