Hello from a 'townie'

Post: # 260015Post Bjarvis2785 »

Hi all,

Thought I'd pop in and say hi...
This forum seems right up my street. Unfortunately, I don't have a huge garden or acres of land, but I do have enough to enjoy with my wife, 2x daughters and 4x chickens :)
We long for the day when we can afford a place in the country but right now it's just a smidge out of our reach :(

As well as technology and fast cars, I love gardening, growing fruit and veg, keeping my chickens and being out in the country or by the sea - somewhere peaceful... Sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm only 26!!

Anyway, hi all :)

That sounds great. I love your age! We have two children and a little cottage in a country village with very modest gardens and are both under 26. Most of our friends have children our boys age but are in their 30s

Welcome

hi there

im also 26 and happily married with 2 kids!
my husband's 31 and lots of his friends in their 30's are having kids just now, but im the first out of my friends to get married and have kids
but, as iv always said, the female body is best equipped for pregnancy, birth and raising babies in your late teens and 20's. once you get into your 30's you start having all these age related risks factors, like downs syndrome and miscarriage ect. having babies is stressful on your body and you should do it when you're most fit and suited for it. but in todays modern society women are putting their careers before starting a family, the average age for women to have their first child is going up and up, and as a result so are the number of problem pregnancy's and babies born with defects.
luckily my 2 kids are perfect  and my body's bounced back quite efficiently, apart from the stretch marks scars iv been left with :angryfire:

my husband and i both believe its better to work for ourselves, physically putting food on the table for our own family, rather than have the stress of some business office job working for some big corporation doing god knows what and never having time to spend with each other.
this way we are together with the kids, they help out in the garden, they enjoy it, we are together and working for ourselves for our own benefit, not anybody else's.

 ramble over!

Hello 'townie', does having a 'country' attitude make you a half-townie??
