Hello from Bristol/Gloucester!
Hello everyone!
I'm a student so I split my time between the two places. I'd heard of Self-Sufficientish (or at least the book) aaaages ago, when I saw Andy and Dave do a talk on the Big Green Idea bus and was previously a member of the It's Not Easy Being Green forum (when it was that). I dabble in environmental campaigning mostly, but have always had a fascination with self-sufficiency, though it has (so far) proven to be fairly incompatible with student living. This year I'm vowing to try harder and you all seem like a pleasant, helpful bunch so I thought I'd start here. What brought me here now is I wanted to start foraging (for plants only - I'm vegan) in Bristol, and most people seem to be do fairly well in old Brizzle, and a lot of you seem to congregate here, so bingo! Plans also include self-sufficientish-ing up the parents' home, growing veg, worm composting, keeping chickens etc.
Again... hello!

Hi there and welcome

Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!
