Hello from the land downunder

Post: # 25737Post GrowWhataGoodLife »

Hi one and all,
I am from Melbourne here in Australia, a horticulturalist with the land in the blood. My late father was originally from the 'Ukraine', sometimes caled the breadbasket of Europe. He went to UK after WW2 as a displaced person where he met my late mum originally born Wales, lived England and with my dad came to Aus. as a family .

Myself younger brother mum and dad. I grew up from a whippet doing things around the garden with my dad, everything was grown and looked after organically. He in the UK had an allotment leased from the local farmer, in Aus he had a wonderful vegie garden in the both house we lived in until he passed away at the second house in 1980.

The first house was the ' 1\4' acre size, and the vegie 'patch' a 1\4 of that, most houses were on 1\4 acre blocks the early 60's. The next house was an acre size, and the vegie garden grew to a 1\4 acre with the size of the block.

Thats all for now, will say more later as I overcome my shyness.:-)
I Do the best I can to use everything efficiently, To take care of my space on this earth, and those close to me.

Born Staffordshire UK 1954 Australia1968\now.
