Drying Flowers

Hi. My DD has some roses that she wants to dry. I am looking for a simple way, if that is possible.............. They are red and white.

Try hanging them upside down in a dry-dark place, like an airing cupboard. It works sometimes. Best if they aren't quite out otherwise the petals might fall out. If it's too light, the colours will fade.

Otherwise, use a desiccant , like silica crystals, but you'll need plenty of them.

Hmmm, they are quite well 'out'. I might try somewhere not as warm as the airing cupboard - in our house that won't be difficult!

I've always done it by hanging it upside down..... alternatively, I once got a rose of my hubby and I pressed it placed it in between paper and piled a load of books on top of it and it dried out and it's a keep sake now :)

I've got a book at home somewhere about drying flowers in the microwave using silica gel (I think - It's been a few years since I read it).
