Does anyone know why women sit on sofas with their legs tucked under them? I do! Just wondering if anyone else knows this interesting and true fact

Thanks for replies but this is the true answer! It comes from the topical hunter gatherer thing that someone else is ranting about on another post. That's what reminded me of this fact. In hunter gatherer days the man would go off to do his hunter gathering bit and the woman would sit in a tree but tuck her legs up to stop predators pulling her out of the tree and just remember hyenas in those days were six foot long and cave bears stood twelve foot high. Another preprogrammed habit is dogs walking in a circle to crush imaginary vegetation before they sit down. So there you have it!

Not sure about your theory, but neith me nor either of my daughters ever tuck our feet under, but hubby does...what does that say about us?!

However I must correct one of your comments: Dogs turn in circles to see which way the wind is blowing & lie facing into it to smell any dodgy stuff coming their way. (Which is why our spoilt 'hounds go around & around ALOT in our heated house!)

I think women are generally more bendy than men, so we do it cos we can! My husband is physically incapable of such a thing.
