(Or alternatively if anyone in Orkney or somewhere a long way from Cambridge wants a long-term house guest, perhaps I'll just pack my bags and come and wait it out until the dust settles).

Disaster
I have lost one of my other half's rare bootlegs and he is in despair. I was hoping I could google and it would be available on amazon or something, but no, it seems it really is hard to get hold of. Could everyone please send me finding-things-vibes? I can't see how it could have left the house!

Think hard about it as you go to sleep. You'll dream about its whereabouts.

Bootlegs?
Is it contraband Alcohol, illegally imported Music or some sort of Gater?
I'll never find it here if I am not a bit clearer on what it is I am actually looking for!
(Hope it turns up!)

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Re: Disaster
Ha! I was a bit unspecific there, wasn't I? It was a bootleg tape (I mean, who still has tapes? We do), it was Elvis Costello, Armed and Dangerous. I am still looking for it. On the bright side, at least all the cupboards are getting tidied
.
I have discovered through this episode that apparently all our music is filed carefully by artist and in date order, and I have been undermining the system every time I put a CD back, because I just stick them in anywhere. Perhaps now's the moment to switch to an iPod or something, I don't know...

Good Sounds!...pretty sure should be available on vinyl.
But tidy people ARE strange,, CD and OCD always seem to be closely related.
However, given your OH has such good taste in music,my sympathies have fundamentaly changed, and you need to find these priceless tapes immediately.

Re: Disaster
Aaahhh! - I know someone just like you, Susie. This someone often takes CDs out of their cases and puts them all back in the wrong ones. If a case gets broken, the CD ends up crammed in with another - with no logic to it, but it's certainly somewhere.
Any mileage in a similar occurrence?

Re: Disaster
I have tapes! And records. I don't play them though as they are all stuffed in a cupboard upstairs and the turntable and tape player are in the living room.

Re: Disaster
Do you mean Armed Forces? Because I can't find any reference to a record called Armed and Dangerous even on his own website.

Re: Disaster
Susie,
Have you found it yet? Have you looked under the bed or under the cupboard it's supposed to be in?
