My box of seeds has got wet. Very wet. Full of water, really. I'm not yet sure how many of the seeds are affected - it could be all of them. The peas and beans (saved seeds stored in paper bags) have certainly absorbed water, some more obviously than others. I'm trying to get them all in soil as quickly as possible, assuming they'll be useless if I let them dry out now, but what next? I guess the peas and broad beans will be OK in the cold, but other kinds of beans? A friend gave me some called 'District Nurse' and 'Dutch Brown Haricot'.
I've planted most of the onion sets as well as some seeds (I was looking for these when I discovered the water) but can't yet face investigating the rest of the packets.
Any thoughts?

Thats a shame.I'm not sure if this will work and how long they were wet but have you tried drying them say on a radiator?Place them on a clean piece of cloth like a tea towel and it won't take long for them to dry.If they've gone mouldy, then I'm really not sure if they can be saved?Good luck and happy growing for 2012,I can't wait!PS Can you plant onion sets now????

Re: Soggy seeds
You can certainly plant onion sets - I just did it
I have no idea if they will survive, though
I had the choice of planting them or letting them go rotten, so it wasn't much of a choice for me.
