Mannequin
I made an awesome mannequin!!!!! It's not quite finished, still needs to be stuffed and mounted on something but the basic part is complete :D :D :D
It's super freaking awesome and It's going to make sewing SO MUCH EASIER since I like to make my own clothes and haaaaate trying to pin everything in the right place with just a mirror to help. The figure could use some work though :P

Couldn't get the pics to work on here so unfortunate linkage it is

Re: Mannequin
good job! I found that mounting it and making it look decent was the hardest part! I covered mine with stretchy fleece (super tight so I can pin things on) and another removable light lycra cover for when it's not in use, it just looks pretty :p
let us know how you get on!
Helsbells have you got pictures of yours finished? How did you mount it?

Lovely stuff All
I'm sure I saw an edwardian instruction/pattern somewhere on €bay a while ago, but those look way better.

Re: Mannequin
they look ideal. Been watching a few on fleabay but the prices were just too high even for second handers. I have a quick question about the tape. Where did you guys get water actovated tape from?

Re: Mannequin
For mine, I was "wearing" a black bin bag and we used duct tape to set the main areas: waist, hips, under bust, between boobs, shoulders. Then Mr papier machéed me, using strips of brown paper and wallpaper paste, different sizes to follow the contours of the body easily. 2 or 3 layers later ( let it dry a bit) mark a few horizontal lines along the back bone so it's easy to match when sticking it back together. Hope that helps :)

Re: Mannequin
Actually no I haven't photographed it finished, but I will. I have mounted using the stem of a past Christmas tree inside a Christmas tree stand. Sounds complicated but isn't I will try to remember to photograph it. Unfortunately i can't really use it now cos I am preggers!
