Brussels

Post: # 241428Post mrsflibble »

I planted some Brussels in the end of april, they're doing well and have little brussels all up the stems, but dhould I do anything to increase yield? or should I remove some of the extra leaves?
they're planted in partial shade, clay soil which had clover growing in it for two years prior to planting.

thanks!

Only remove any yellow leaves at the bottom otherwise as Susie says, leave alone ... and I only mention removing the yellow leaves just for hygiene as when the drop off the make a perfect hiding place for slugs and other creepy crawlies.
Other than that, well done on growing some of your Christmas dinner. :santa:

thanks peeps! the husband and child claim to hate brussels, but they hate sitting on the shelf after being transported in refrigerated lorries brussels, not brussels with food inches on them rather than food miles! I can even cut down on the inches by posting them through the kitchen window instead of picking them walking to the door, down the hall and into the kitchen.....
