Do you know about an event that you want to talk about? Is there a campaign you have started, are involved in or want to start? Inspired by Marvin Gaye this is your place to tell the world what's going on.
baldybloke wrote:Not really a music festival but Devizes Festival in June is usually worth checking out. Rumour has it, the Yardbirds are playing this year. Also the party in the park has Jackie Leven playing this year and August Bank Holiday Monday the Market Place is shut to traffic and there are bands and street theatre.
On top of which the Cellar Bar at the Bear Hotel has regular blues nights on Friday's and the Conservative Club hosts the Long Street Blues Club, if you can forget your political scrupples. Aynsley Lister is playing there next Saturday.
What a hip and happening town I live in.
And all with the added bonus that you can drink a good pint of wady's 6X!!!
Having been born and bred here in Devizes, I was pretty much weaned on 6X. However as I've got older 6X and me have fallen out big time. It doesn't like me anymore with dire consequences. Any other real ale (except Flowers which gives me a major headache) I'm fine with but here in town I have little choice but to go for a Guinness.
Has anyone seen the plot, I seem to have lost mine?
Hoping to go to Knockengorroch in May and maybe Doune the Rabbit Hole for the Sunday cos 3 Daft Monkeys are playing, yay!
We gave up with the tent a couple of years ago after nearly getting flooded out when the river rose so high it was at the door! Got ourselves a van to use, love it!
Registered for Glastonbury again but didn't get tickets . Might go to a festival in Germany instead and visit Berlin on the way, it's supposed to be amazing in the summer.
Well I'm glad I didn't go to Belladrum this year - not least because the line-up was bobbins IMHO but also the drowned rats I saw in Tossco this morning suggested they'd had a rather wet night!
On the downside I couldn't get to the new Sainsburys in Nairn - the road was flooded!!!!

I was going to be doing a talk about Guerrilla Gardening at Lampfest (a small local Pagan Event) but due to the rioting in the Midlands it has been cancelled grrrrrrrrr
We'll be wending our way southwestwards tomorrow ready to get to Beautiful Days on thursday when they open the camping. Under no circumstances am I to direct the other half round a corner that nearly caused the car to die last year - that was a slight detour to get cider for herself on the way to the festival.
