What brought you here?

Post: # 235858Post Andy Hamilton »

Its easy for me to talk about what brought me here, I started the forum - back in October 2004. It doesn't seem like almost 7 years ago. But I wondered how you lot got here? Was it a search for nettle beer or did someone you know tell you about the forum?

Wanting to 'live the dream' and needing somewhere to discuss ideas about being frugal and smallholding in order to make the dream a reality. havent yet achieved the dream, but closer than I was.

I cannot for the life of me remember. Sometimes, when I'm bored, I stick silly searches (sometimes even meaningful ones) into Google - maybe it was one of those. But it doesn't really matter. Once I'd had a furtle through the site, I was hooked.

Glad you did what you did, Andy.

Having done a search of all my posts - 249 pages of them  I find that it was slugs that brought me here too!

I was browsing the forums for a couple of years before getting the courage to coming out of lurkdom! Originally found the site after reading John Seymour's Complete Guide... and looking for more info online. I was hooked!

Interestingly given the time of year and a couple of other new threads, Elderflower Champagne recipe! Comes up high in Google.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

I was fed up of hearing "why don't you just buy it?" and thought I couldn't be the only crazy one out there. Thanks to you, I now know I'm nowhere near crazy (some of you, however...   )
A great source of inspiration.
