It's Raining!

If you know of a way to help save our planet, even just a small part of it put it here. Also if you want to ask how to help, or even if you want to promote your environmental organisation. All goes here.

Mmm. We only ended up with an inch, but that was enough to wipe out my bricks, lift the dam a foot, and give the tanks a good top up - as we have pretty good catchment here.

Been making bricks again all week but...

Fired up the pot belly the other night. Tis not freezing or anything (actually sitting here with the door open!) but it sure is nice stoking the fire and sitting beside it with a stack of Grassroots mags or a book... Tis the novelty I enjoy, I think.

Tis raining on the Gold Coast tonight... Gawd, that annoys me Nev. I lived there for a while and I SWEAR that community is the most un-ecofriendly mob on earth. They winge every year that they have no water, and truck it in from all over the state...fair dinkum they have a massive catchment, that should adequately supply them. Instead they let it run down gutters for days and wash their cars daily, install fountains all over the bloody place... that kind of stuff. Drives me nuts that they keep getting it! A few weeks back the wallys were on the news because they were telling consumers to "please waste it" because their dam was overflowing...
Fair dinkum!

Ok, hoping off my green soapbox podium now...

Glad to hear you got an inch, Boots! all up I think we must have come close to that.............

Yeah, I know what you mean.......we still have idiots around here wasting water, craps me off too.

Something else as well, flying back into Sydney when I have been working interstate and I look at the glow of electric lights. My contribution to sustainable lighting seems pretty sick!
