Hi there

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hi there

Post: # 23303Post lsdiver »

Hi all,
I've recently moved to Saltburn, Cleveland area from New Zealand where I'd managed to figure out what grows where and although some things seem to be pretty reliable I'm still learning how to go about things here. I'm not as self sufficient as I'd like to be but witht he help of my brother in law we are good for all vege, apples in the millions, chickens so eggs and goats for milk.
Much to the dispair of my fiance any pot not tied down is planted with something edible for our tiny back garden so I've been interested to read about the container garden in that section.
My bigger more space consuming vege is at the brother in laws, up on a hill that always seems to be a cuple fo degrees colder than anywhere else!
Look forward to learning more about getting the most from the limited sun here

Hello Lauren and welcome

I'm much the same - if it can hold soil and I can punch holes in it for drainage, it will be planted! Currently using the tetrapaks I can't yet recycle, several rescued damaged teapots, olive oil tins and an old speaker cabinet.

regards

Sharon
