Re: Galvanised?

Zinc is an expensive commodity these days. Much of what is sold as galvenised steel is Chinese made and to keep costs as low as possible the layer of zinc applied is getting ever thinner. The zinc layer is sacrificial - it is eaten away instead of the steel is the ideal - so nothing galvanised will last forever. That said, I've got some galvanised poles that I inherited with the house that must be at least 30 years old and are still showing no signs of corrosion.
