I put football and ironing into the same category - I've never understood the point of either of them; I haven't watched football, or worn an ironed shirt for about 20 years.

I used to be passionate about motor racing in a big way, but the advertisers have ensured that even that has been transformed into meaningless, purile, self-important TV entertainment of the same order as Big Brother (though slightly less noisy, I think).

That's my way of thinking, too!

Must admit though that I do very occasionally wear an ironed shirt... Have to go to the Royal Highland Show next week for work, and the dress code says "suit or equivalent". Well, they'll have to accept me with ordinary trousers - I have one pair that's non-jeans - but I think I will have to find my iron and tidy up a white shirt... Let's hope I've got one without coffee stains!

I'm a size 10, really; I wear a 20 for comfort. (Gina Yashere)

Here I am late as usual! Hello Mrs Wombat, it's lovely to see you here. Mr Wombat is quite a character and such a wonderful member. I reckon he has many fans here on SSF!

I too did the ironing to the sound of racing cars and football the other day. I thought that ironing was far more exciting than what was on the telly. Now, that's got to be a fib! They are both dull.
If in doubt ~ use a hammer!

Hi Jo & Shiney. If I've missed anyone please forgive me I'm having trouble keeping track. Sunday afternoon and all is quiet. Kevin & Romaine still in bed after watching soccer all night. I went to bed after the first game at 11pm Thats what we get for living in the southern hemisphere. Aus is playing Brazil 2.30am! Monday morning oh well out with the tapes. I have to be up at 4 anyway to take Nevin to the airport. Melbourne this week. He's in the garden right now has redone the vegetable garden beds with wood borders. Looks really good.
Always look for the positive.

wrinkly shirts

Hey Muddypause when I saw you you reminded me of Nevins brother. Now you tell me you haven't worn an ironed shirt for 20 years. Something else you also have in common. Niether did he. His ex wife was not into the ironing thing. It all depends on what you can get away with. With Nev's job he would be hauled into the bosses office so we have no choice. Personally I like wash and wear. We really have to talk to those clothing people. Winter here and sitting in nice warm trackies and enjoying the garden. Nevin has finished the wood fire pizza oven and he wants me to make it look like a turtle somehow. It is turltle shaped but needs feet, head and tail. Its made of clay, sand, straw with a firebrick base. Any ideas?
