Mint should be contained really otherwise it goes mad. I remember my grandma's sunny back yard with a very big pot of mint by the door - helped deter flies and was ready for use at any time but never overrun the place.

For winter, chopped small, mix the leaves with vinegar so it's just covered. Dilute with more vinegar when needed.

Get to like mint tea and have a cup every day. Delish.
There is no question. Cap and Share or TEQs is the answer. Even Cap and Dividend!

Gelatine? It's mint jelly, that you have on lamb. Mint, sugar and lemon juice to help it set.

you can preserve mint for winter use by covering with syrup

chop up lots and lots of mint finely and pack into a jar - it wants to be completely full. next add a big layer of golden syrup. the syrup sinks down, pressing the mint with it and air bubbles pop up out. you end up with a small amount of sweet mint in a jar. you can then add this to vinegar for mint sauce, or add it to yogurt to serve with curries etc. keeps all winter

I absolutely love minty teas, so dry the leaves and then just make lots and lots of mint tea, and all for free.....

Pop a few sprigs of mint into your saucepan when cooking new potatoes and peas - scrummy!

I don't know what it's like, but there's a drink called a mint julep:

4 fresh mint sprigs
2 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
1 tsp powdered sugar
2 tsp water

Muddle mint leaves, powdered sugar, and water in a collins glass. Fill the glass with shaved or crushed ice and add bourbon. Top with more ice and garnish with a mint sprig. Serve with a straw.
