Newbie saying hello
Hi Everyone,
I thought I would say hello as the forum title suggested! My name is Caz and I live in Liverpool, UK.
I live in a city centre flat with no outdoor space, so being as self-sufficientish as I would like is a bit tricky sometimes but here are my current projects, some of which are very recent and some of which I have been doing for a while now.
At the moment I:
Make my own bread
Have thyme and basil plants growing in my window sill (thyme now 2 years old!)
I have just bottled my first batch of home made wine (thanks to the fruit tea bag recipe on this site)
We have gone over to free-range chicken and pork
Use free-range eggs (have done for years though)
I have grown lettuce in a box on the window sill - must plant seeds this year!!
I try to cook a lot from scratch
I use my slow cooker for stock with my chicken bones
Have made chutney with apples from my boss (recipe from the Selfsufficientish book - is absolutely delicious)
Have made jam/jelly with lovely free wild blackberries and elderberries.
Also made damson jam, damson gin and sweet pickled damsons from secret damson tree near my work
Basically, I'm trying to up my levels of homecraft and cooking. I really like cooking and can't wait to take my new maslin pan for a spin soon!
I'm now off to start another tea bag wine. The results of the last one were very drinkable :)

Hi there and welcome
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hello there, new to this too.
Look like it could be interesting. Best of luck with your projects. "Much Love" (courtesy of Terry Tibbs)

Hi Caz ...
That list, for a person who lives in a flat with no outdoor space, is pretty impressive. It's a sight more than I did when I lived in flat with ... you know.
You'll probably like it here.
