It shouldn't - PET has extremely long-term UV and temperature stability. And the only real down-side of which I'm aware is that oxygen can diffuse inwards (although, again, that's in terms of YEARS of storage rather than months. It's very chemically stable, too, so you shouldn't expect leaching of anything into the contents with consequent weakening of the structure. It's got me flummoxed.

It's a granny-sucking-eggs question, but are you sure the bottles are PET?

You know - I will go and check - when i think of PET bottles I am thinking of ex-cola bottles etc - as i have only ever heard them described as such, but you know, i've never actualy checked! I'll do that when i get home . . .
